FC Midtjylland, in collaboration with ISI Højskole, offers a unique study programme aimed at aspiring Groundsmen who want to turn theory into practice and build a career in the football industry.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated person who takes pride in doing the job properly. You should enjoy active work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Some flair for operating machinery is an advantage, but the right attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn matter most.
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from candidates with an interest in groundskeeping or greenkeeping. Formal experience is not required.
Study Programme Overview
As a Groundsman student, you’ll work closely with FC Midtjylland’s Head Groundsman and support the daily preparation and maintenance of the training pitches used by the first team and academy.
Role description:
Under the guidance of the Head Groundsman, you will primarily operate mowing equipment, cut the pitches, and carry out hand raking. We value quality over speed and expect you to take pride in each task. If you bring the right attitude and basic confidence around machinery, we will teach you the rest.
Key tasks:
- Operating mowing equipment and cutting the training pitches.
- Hand raking and other practical pitch-maintenance tasks.
- Supporting the daily preparation and maintenance of pitches used by the first team and academy.
- Checking your own work and ensuring that each task is completed to a high standard.
Educational Component at ISI Højskole
Alongside your practical work at FCM, you will attend courses at ISI Højskole. Here, you will:
- Complete the UEFA C Coaching License
- Learn about FCM’s Style of Play
- Explore specialist football disciplines
- Gain insights into Danish football culture
- Live and learn in a professional and supportive environment
Additional Information
- Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is an advantage
- Personality: We value reliability, initiative, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn.
- Location: Accommodation is provided at IBF Arena, right next to the FCM training ground (single rooms)
- Financials: The study programme is unpaid, but all board and lodging are covered
